This 1-day adventure takes you to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s premier wildlife sanctuaries and home to the largest black rhino population in East Africa. The conservancy also hosts the world-famous Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, rescued chimpanzees, large carnivores, and an abundance of plains game. Enjoy rich wildlife viewing with stunning views of Mount Kenya in the background.

Ol Pejeta
- The Last Northern White Rhinos: The most poignant highlight is visiting Najin and Fatu, the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world, a truly once-in-a-lifetime encounter that underscores the importance of global conservation efforts.
- Rhino Sanctuary: Ol Pejeta is East Africa's largest black rhino sanctuary, with a robust and growing population of over 100 individuals, offering excellent opportunities to see these endangered animals in their natural habitat
- The "Big Five": The conservancy is home to all members of the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. Its high wildlife-to-land ratio makes sightings of these iconic species fairly common.
- Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary : This is the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees. The sanctuary provides a lifelong refuge for chimps rescued from various traumatic situations across Africa, in an agreement with the Jane Goodall Institute.
Safari Itinerary
Day 1:Nairobi – Ol Pejeta - Nairobi
Morning: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or residence at 6:00 AM.
Drive north through lush Kenyan highlands and tea/coffee plantations.
Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy mid-morning.
Begin your first game drive in search of elephants, lions, buffalos, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, and many more.
Late Morning: Chimpanzee Sanctuary Visit
Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to observe rescued chimpanzees.
Learn about their rescue stories, rehabilitation efforts, and conservation work.
Midday: Wildlife Game Drive & Lunch
Continue with a game drive across the conservancy’s diverse habitats.
Optional stop at a lodge inside the conservancy for lunch (Sweetwaters Serena Camp or Morani’s Restaurant).
After lunch, enjoy more wildlife sightings including the Big Five—Ol Pejeta is one of the few places where you can see all five in one day.
Afternoon: Rhino Conservancy Visit
Visit the endangered species enclosure to see highly protected rhinos, including northern white rhino conservation efforts.
Learn about anti-poaching programs and community conservation.
Evening: Return to Nairobi
Enjoy a final game drive as you exit the conservancy.
Drive back to Nairobi with drop-off at your hotel/residence by around 6:30 PM.
Please note that this safari is fully customizable to suit your travel preferences. You may choose to begin and end the tour in Nairobi, or start in Nairobi and finish in Mombasa if you plan to enjoy a beach extension along the Kenyan Coast.
