Day 1:Mombasa/Diani – Shimba Hills - Mombasa/Diani
Pick-Up & Departure
06:00 AM – 06:30 AM:
Pick up from your hotel or residence in Mombasa or Diani.
Depart for Shimba Hills National Reserve, arriving at the gate by mid-morning.
Morning Game Drive
08:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Begin your day with a refreshing game drive through Shimba Hills, exploring forested areas and open grasslands. Expect to spot:
Sable Antelopes
Elephants
Giraffes
Buffalo
Warthogs
Waterbucks
Various bird species
The cool climate and diverse landscapes make for a relaxed and scenic game drive.
Guided Nature Walk to Sheldrick Falls
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Embark on a guided walk through the forest to the spectacular Sheldrick Falls.
The hike (about 1.5–2 hours round trip) offers:
Beautiful forest trails
Birdlife and butterflies
A refreshing natural pool at the bottom of the waterfall
You may take photos or enjoy a cool dip (optional).
Lunch at Shimba Hills Lodge
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM
Enjoy a delicious lunch at Shimba Hills Lodge, famous for its serene forest setting and waterhole that attracts wildlife.
Relax on the terrace and watch animals come to drink.
Afternoon Game Viewing
02:00 PM – 03:30 PM
Continue with a short afternoon game drive as you begin your exit from the reserve.
Drive Back
03:30 PM – 05:30 PM
Depart Shimba Hills and drive back to your hotel/residence in Mombasa or Diani.
Drop-off in the early evening.
Please note that this safari is fully customizable to suit your travel preferences. You may choose to begin and end the tour in Nairobi, or start in Nairobi and finish in Mombasa if you plan to enjoy a beach extension along the Kenyan Coast.
