Gorilla Trekking
The highlight of any Uganda safari is gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. These protected forests are home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Your trek begins early in the morning with a briefing by expert rangers. You’ll then hike through dense forest terrain, guided by trackers who locate gorilla families. The trek can take anywhere from a couple of hours to most of the day—but the reward is extraordinary.
Spending one hour in the presence of a gorilla family is an emotional and humbling experience. Watching them interact, feed, and care for their young in their natural habitat is something that stays with you forever.
